Northwest Hiker is an ambitious project that tries to provide at least the basic information about hiking trails in the states of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. However, you will soon discover that the best information is available for three specific areas: The Gifford Pinchot National Forest, the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, and the Mount Hood National Forest.

THE GIFFORD.

This hike guide covers the entire Gifford Pinchot National Forest, which includes Mt. Adams and all of the Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. There are 85 hikes with over 4300 digital trail positioned photos. Each CD Hike Guide comes with an outstanding screensaver displaying photos taken from most of the hikes and from many areas seldom seen by most hikers.

THE HOOD.

This guide covers all of the Mt. Hood National Forest except those hikes that are also in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. It also includes 2 hikes outside the Hood for a total of 107 hikes. This guide comes with professional topo-relief maps for each hike and the best map and mileage guides for finding the trailheads of each hike. The guide also includes a functional wildflower guide and a 100 photo screensaver of photos taken in the backcountry of the Mount Hood National Forest.
