This is one of the interesting displays of geology and paleontology found in the beautiful John Day Fossil Bed National Monument.

The trails that are available for exploring this area are short and easy to hike. There are two trails to hike. One is called the Flood of Fire Trail and the other is the Story in Stone Trail. If you hike all the options, the mileage is less than a mile.

There are placards along the way describing items of interest that add much to your walk through history.

Enjoy!!
