Here is located an outstanding facility named
the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center. This
visitor's center houses an actual work shop
where paleontological work is in progress.
The facility houses and extraordinary display
of the geology and paleontology found in the
beautiful John Day Fossil Bed National Monument.
Across the road is located the James Cant
Ranch which is a museum of great interest.
It is from the yard of this home that a short
trail leads to the Sheep Rock Overlook.
There are placards along the way describing items
of interest that add much to your walk through
history.
